Dumb. Pretty but dumb. And pointless. And maybe a little obvious. The parts in space would have worked as long as they never made it into Earth orbit. The part with Augustine, I guess it would have worked if it had just ended. The beginning with Augustine going around the world to observatories, the author presumably not knowing that telescopes were being controlled over the internet by 2015 or choosing to ignore it. The lack of any explanation whatsoever either for the end of the world or the appearance of a small girl. Yeah. No.
