Building a StoryBrand: Clarify Your Message So Customers Will Listen, by Donald Miller

4.0

Hey, this was pretty good! I read this for work and while I have an innate rebellion against marketing, I found the advice here authentic, not sleazy, and incredibly concrete. This is a good one for non-sales & marketing folks to read and get advice. I love the idea of relating marketing to movie plots & stories - you’re the guide, your client is the hero. Like most books in this genre, it was white-dude-centered and there was an odd “marriage is between a man and a woman” example, which was more than a bummer, but I did get a lot of stuff I can use. Also, this book wins for most references of Tommy Boy I’ve ever read (no complaints).
