A great compilation of short stories and poems by people who have lived through the immigrant experience.
I didn’t know that it included stories from non-Latino immigrants. That was definitely a blind spot for me and it was great to hear those stories as well.
As a first gen child of immigrants it was interesting and oddly comforting to hear stories that were similar to my family’s and also so very different. It reminded me of how fortunate I have been and all the sacrifices made in order to provide me opportunities that would not have otherwise been available to me.
