John and Gerogeanne meet when Georgi runs out of her wedding leaving her fiances, Virgil, at the alter. John doesn't realize until too late that he had helped his boss's fiance get away. With no place else to go they end up at his house at the beach and end up spending a night together. During their brief encounter Georgi fell half in love with John and was devastated when he dropped her off at the airport saying that his career was more important. But what was worse was that Georgi had no place to go. Having been raised by her grandmother who died several years ago, Georgie was stranded with no money and no one to turn to whether she stayed in Washington or went back home to Texas. So instead of flying out she took to the classifieds and managed to get a job interview with a catering company which seven years later brought about her reunion with John.

So this was a big relationship centered book, not a whole lot of action going on other than that. I did end up really enjoying this book but there were somethings that didn't happen in this book that I would have hoped for. In the beginning Georgi talks about a friend that she left at her wedding, she mentions her friend several times in the first chapter but after that she is nowhere to be found. Once John and Georgi make it to his beach house you meet John's grandfather who is pretty darn awesome! I would have loved to see him more thought out the book but he doesn't make another appearance until the very end.

All that aside, I laughed, I cried and in the end I was happy with the story. So 4 stars.
