Ahhhh... I've been meaning to read this book since I was a middle grader. Can you believe that?

While I was the resident nerdy girl in the library back in my elementary school days, the popular kids always took out the good books and wouldn't let anyone else ever have a hold on them. Guardians of Ga'Hoole was one of those series. No library could keep them in stock so I just... didn't get to read them. Which is sad, because EVERYONE talked about them in my school. I felt so out of place. Lucky for me, I found it at the Goodwill and scooped this book up and basically ran to get it.

I adored it! It's cute, fun, and a lovely read. Definitely has it's sad parts, but I really enjoyed it. I'll be trying to find every other book in the series and then watch the movie adaptation that came out a while ago. I can see why so many people loved this book series when it came out. It's a fun book about birds as the main characters.

I didn't take the book too seriously and tried to bring myself back to how my middle grade self would read it. For fun! And I liked it.

Four out of five stars.
