The Threat Below by J.S. Latshaw, Jason Latshaw

2.0

I'm giving this book 2 stars. I was really disappointed. In theory the plot line is good. And I see the technique the author tried to build anticipation by switching back and forth between characters points of view but for me it was wasted. I didn't care at all what happened on the mountain. Telling me about the mountain instead of progressing through the actual story just made the book DRAG on. Then finally when Icelyn finds out the truth about the threat below she turns into an annoying character who only seems to care about the beasts and not humans which I felt took away from her character as a whole. My favorite character was Adorane because i feel he stayed true to himself throughout the book. At 80% of the book where Icelyn decides to ascend I wanted to throw my kindle at the wall because her character is so stupid. I liked the overall idea of the book but the way it played out and the development of characters I felt was seriously lacking. I probably won't be reading any future related stories.
