I tend to steer clear of hyped books, but every now and then there is one that lives up to its rave reviews. This is one of them. It's a bit predictible sometimes, but I don't really care because the execution is so perfect. This book is fantastically well-written; I even picked up a few new words. The descriptions of loneliness are spot on. Itis funny and sad and hopeful in turns. And for those who've read Jane Eyre and/or Sense and Sensibility, it also offers a game of "spot the references".
Graphic: Emotional abuse, Self harm, Suicidal thoughts, Vomit, and Suicide attempt
Moderate: Alcoholism, Child abuse, Child death, Domestic abuse, Mental illness, Death of parent, Fire/Fire injury, and Abandonment
