I was hoping for actual resolution between Mitra and her father (which, upon further reflection, was purely projection on my part) and even Mitra and Julian, but I really loved the character development in this book. Especially Mitra’s. I’m an oldest sister/daughter, and while my parents are not immigrants, I found myself relating to Mitra at many points throughout her story; I think the hardest part about maturing is unlearning the behaviors and ideas you accidentally internalized
