The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky

2.0

There was too much that didn’t really contribute to the plot in this book; things where, after they are thoroughly detailed, never come up again. In a sense, it’s probably very good for ‘world building’ and ‘setting the scene’, but, when world building dominates your novel, the focus of the book gets lost.

It’s a shame… I thought I would enjoy this book much more than I did. Crime and Punishment was much better.
