Funny You Should Ask by Elissa Sussman

Did not finish book. Stopped at 52%.
DNF* @ 52%

I tried. It did not give what I wanted it to give. Firstly, the whole journalistic ethics of our main character is questionable. Like ma’am you learn this in school you shouldn’t interview ppl when they are intoxicated….it’s not hard.

Also the fact that she was debating on whether to write a story OUTING SOMEONES SEXUALITY is so problematic. She annoyed me so much and the fact she had this “oh he can never like me because I’m a normal human” thing was icky. She also kept referencing how she was smarter than him and somewhat calling him dumb. She also complains that the only thing ppl talk about is the profile she did in him even ten years later but she also uses it to sell her new book?

I also thought the love interest was in love with his best friend like seven husbands but he wasn’t gay and I find that hard to believe. Also there was no chemistry between the main character and male love interest.

The time jumps absolutely killed this book, you can’t reference something and never mention what actually happen. I made it halfway and nothing happened, no romance at all???

The random articles were unnecessary, I don’t want to read an opinion piece on the characters acting in a movie or a gossip column talking about how they dressed for the red carpet.
