A harrowing story, written in a clear way. Though the prose style is often quite beautiful, it feels inauthentic and empty, even dissonant sometimes, when considering the characters and the story. This effect sometimes makes the plot lose impact - so it's very easy to read, but I couldn't immerse myself in the novel's reality well. Still a good read overall, but I had higher hopes than it delivered.
