White Sand Volume 2 by Brandon Sanderson, Rik Hoskin

4.0

Continuing the story of vol. 1 but with a tighter focus on Kenton and his fight to find allies amidst the web of allegiances around him, vol. 2 continues to display Sanderson's skill as a storyteller and worldbuilder. With "White Sand" this pairs well with the dramatic adaptation and visuals of the rest of the creative team--even with the rather unexpected change of artist for the final chapter of this volume.

It's a graphic novel clearly grounded in epic Sanderson's epic fantasy style, but the comic form works well to showcase Kenton's adventures. It's a different experience to take in the story in this manner, but I'm enjoying it and I look forward to seeing where it all leads.
