Inevitable by Briar Prescott

5.0

This book is essentially a warm hug. The angst and hurt/comfort vibes that I’ve come to expect from Prescott are definitely still present, but in Inevitable it’s more the dull ache of pain that is already healing instead of the sharp stabbing of fresh wounds.

Watching Drew, Bas, and Ezra navigate their emotions and circumstances is cozy and soothing, even when they face hardships. As an outsider it’s so easy to see where each character’s strengths and weaknesses lie and how they fit together. And of course the banter is delicious and clever.

I only slightly wish there had been more spicy scenes, but that’s is because I’m greedy and couldn’t get enough of their dynamic, and not because the story is missing them.

If you’re looking for a low(ish) angst, comforting, and thoughtful read, I highly recommend giving this book a try.
