I really enjoyed reading this. While I felt like I could see a few of the big plot points coming, I don’t think that’s a flaw, particularly because there were so many other details that kept me guessing. I didn’t see the last two big twists coming at all.  Evelyn’s love story was really sweet and relatable and human, and I appreciate that the author was able to give all of these characters the space to be complex, flawed, and still lovable without shying away from their truths. I’m really mostly docking a partial point because there were one or two needless fatphobic comments in there that left a sour taste in my mouth. But otherwise, a really well-crafted, easy to read story.
