Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens

3.0

This book was beautifully rendered. Very sensory, you feel like you live a languid life in the swamp with Kya, the main character. However. Languid is the key term. Languid and/or slow and boring. Perhaps this just wasn’t the book for me, but I just found it tedious. Almost nothing happens in the whole book. The main character is unrelatable in every way because she has literally been on her own in the wilderness for her entire life, never learning how to human. The only vaguely interesting thing that happened was the ending. I agreed with the way it ended, though I was not surprised by it.

Ultimately, I think the place and the character were well rendered, but I really did not enjoy reading about them.
