The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
Did not finish book. Stopped at 54%.
Okay, so I really liked most of the book. I knew it was going to be intense, but I thought I was prepared, and I wasn’t. I think it will be a book I come back to later in life. I have only ever not finished a handful of books in my life, and so this stopping point is a testament to Sylvia Plath’s writing abilities. I was wholly engrossed in Esther’s descent into insanity. But it felt too real, too vivid, in my head.
Graphic: Self harm, Suicide attempt, Suicide, Mental illness, and Suicidal thoughts
