Anne of Greenville by Mariko Tamaki

Ummm I really did not read content warnings for this before diving in bc I for REAL did not think I needed to bc it gives just ~silly fun quirky~ vibes. Like yeah I figured there would be some bullying bc I know Anne of Green Gables but I fully did not anticipate the like rampant lesbophobia specifically???? Esp since the main character is in fact queer but is not a lesbian specifically like she just has gay moms??? Like idk I should have counted how many times they used "d*ke" but I was simply so taken aback actually???? So like good fun time but also a lot of times just made me very angry at the children bullying this poor little weirdo just trying to vibe like I am begging u to stop using slurs and accusing fellow teens of arson.
