Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: The Story of Schitt's Creek by Daniel Levy, Eugene Levy

5.0

Reading non fiction is very off brand for me, (does a book about a tv show with fictional characters living in a fictional town count as non fiction?) but this book is spectacular. It’s evident how much care was put into creating this book and there is so much information that just made me appreciate the show even more. I’ve watched the show 4 times over now and the book did an amazing job of still teaching me something new and also giving me a new lens to see the characters through. I thought it would just be a book with loads of still images (which I still would not have been mad at lol) but actually there’s so much to digest in this book that I will definitely revisit it the same way I revisit the show.

One of my favourite things about the show is that there was no room for hate. We’ve grown accustomed to expecting diverse characters to be met with adversity in their perspectives (especially if they are black and/or LGBTQIA+) and I really loved that this show didn’t give any airtime to those narratives. I loved this journey for me and this book is must have for any and every Schitt’s Creek fan.
