I loved seeing Nico's POV and how he's slowly learning to accept love and friendship. I think his (and Leo's) POV were the best in the book. I loved the story, but there were too many questions left unanswered for it to be the "end" of the series. I know the characters appear in later books, but I wish the story was more concluded for the last book in a series. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the series and book, but I am deducting half a star for the unanswered questions I have. I feel like they were unanswered to make the reader continue reading the author's other series (unlike the PJ series which concluded nicely, but still left room for Percy's later adventures - i.e. you could stop there and feel like you're not missing anything which can't be said about the HOO series)
Graphic: Animal death, Child death, Death, Violence, Blood, Fire/Fire injury, War, and Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Child abuse
