I'm both excited and sad that this series is coming towards its' end. I love everything about this series. Whybourne and Griffin are two of my favorite characters. I've enjoyed watching Ival grow into himself and become confident in who he is. This story feels like it's been a long time coming. Ival was always going to have to come to some sort of understanding with his Endicott cousins, but this wasn't at all what I was expecting.

I really liked Heliabel in this story as well. It's good to see her getting to play a part in her son's life now that she's made her transformation. Of of Whybourne and Griffin's sidekicks always make me smile. They have such a supportive group of friends. Christine is such a powerhouse of a woman and Iskander is a great support for her. I love Christine with her spear in this book. So much fun.

The elements leading to the masters return feel like they're spinning tighter around Ival. He's changing things and gathering a force that hopefully can stand against them.
