Holy cow, it's so refreshing to see a connection between two characters who are, foundationally, reasonable people and actually-good communicators.

There's drama and conflict and simmering feelings and issues, and all of that happens while everyone's motivations make sense and nothing is shoehorned in for the sake of drama. The pacing is PERFECT. We get little nuggets of problems throughout the story, so that when things escalate, it's always easy to say, "Oh, yeah, I see where that issue came from."

I think what really makes this book shine is the nuance in the dual-POVs -- I LOVED getting "both sides of how an interaction went," because it causes all those awkward misunderstandings to have way more depth and really makes you feel for the human-ness of all these interactions.

Great stuff!!
