A review by myth
Vespertine by Margaret Rogerson

Apparently a book that uses some of the more interesting facets of catholicism and uses them to examine beliefs and cultural norms while being about FRIENDSHIP was what I needed, go figure.
The beginning was uncomfortably similar to Sabriel, by which I do not mean Sabriel was uncomfortable but that it was. Extremely similar. It became its own thing after a few chapters and was better for it.
