Death in Yellowstone: Accidents and Foolhardiness in the First National Park (Second Edition) by Lee H. Whittlesey

challenging dark emotional fast-paced

5.0

This book is hard to read at times, but even harder to put down. I picked it up from the Yellowstone gift store back in 2016 and it gave me a greater respect for the park around me, as well as the people, both foolhardy and cautious, who had died in the park. The narrative is very tastefully done without coming across as nagging. I'd highly recommend this book to anyone going into Yellowstone because you really can't be too careful, and these stories serve as a sobering reminder of the dangers, both hidden and obvious, present within such a majestic park.
