Killman Creek by Rachel Caine

5.0

Rachel Caine writes her stories in a way that is realistic to the scenarios she's created. Rather than several close calls where our favorite characters are almost caught or almost hurt, she makes us worry. It makes for a more suspenseful story and I love that about her writing. No one is so important to the story that they can dodge all harm.

Killman Creek was a great followup to Stillhouse Lake. As a mom, I pay close attention to the relationships between Gwen and her kids. Caine does a VERY good job portraying that mama bear instinct mothers have for their kiddos.

At times I was scared, I was sad, definitely worried, and the roller coaster of all the emotions was well worth it.
