The Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter

dark emotional sad tense medium-paced

3.0

This book is a slow burn and parts are slower than others as I enjoyed the start and the end of the book.

Rusty Quinn is a notorious defense attorney in a small town. The town calls him the lawyer to the damed as he defends rapist and murders. Twenty eight years ago was the worst night for the Quinn family. The daughters Sam and Charlie have never been the same after they saw their mother murdered. Sam was shot in the head trying to protect Charlie. Charlie has trouble coping after everything she went through.

Now, tragedy strikes again as there is a school shooting and Charlie is a witness to the tragedy. Rusty races to defend Kelly.

What happened then and now are linked and slowly all the pieces of the puzzle come together.

This book was very emotional as the sisters go through how the tragedy effected them mentally and physically and how they work to put their life back on track. There is so much drama and hardship in this book that it is a lot to process .
