The Sun Is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon

5.0

I finished the book in two nights, that is if staying up all night and seeing the dawn of the morning sky is considered "night".
Straight up, the book is adorable and again, deals with some major overlapping issues of the modern life - cultural politics, history and it's politics, racial politics, histories of colloquial terms, beliefs weaving philosophy, literature, art and science together and teen and family issues, bring together a whole new adventure (much like the movie "Before Sunrise", but not quite) that you shall definitely love and you will DEFINITELY love the character Daniel (no spoilers about him, please read the book!)
Nicola Yoon's style of writing so fluidly, describing the main theme of the novel in not just from the protagonists' point of view but also including the sub-protagonists was something that impressed me, it shows how diverse and not universal/central the theme was and I think she delivered that successfully for she has my beliefs turned and I must say, I cannot stop thinking about.

As a 'hopeless romantic' who always as a thing for artsy/literary people. this was one of my top favourite books to read and I enjoyed it so much!
The ending though, some will say it might me tragic and many will say it's probably a happy one, but I don't think that's what we should be focused on because it's more of what the message was and whether something in our beliefs shifted and whether we are willing to take another look at yourself, and what you are passionate about and whether you are willing to take the chance even if it's "too late" or "too early" for you; whether you will wait for you "Do-Over" card or are you willing to make one for yourself.
