The Road from Home: A True Story of Courage, Survival, and Hope by David Kherdian

4.0

I read this book when I was in middle school (about 12? 13?) and accidentally ..never gave it back at the end of the year. Oops!

This book has a major, major thing going for it and that's the fact that it is where I first learned about the Armenian genocide. I don't know about anyone else, but I certainly never learned about this in school. (Which is really sad btw) For that reason, I'd recommend it as a learning experience. It's also a great story!
