Joey might just be my favourite character in this series.

This book is a lot darker than all the rest in the series. Honestly one of the hardest books I've ever read, because it speaks of addiction in such a raw way, that it's honestly heart-breaking. And you know why that is? Because the author made us love Joey: making him be unapologetically himself, showing us all his flaws and making sure we saw incredible human being that was hidden beneath the hard exterior.

All the trauma he sustained, and hardships that life kept throwing at him, was gut-wrenching to read about. But beautiful also, because like it was said at the end of this book, he trully is a phoenix rising from the ashes.

Plus, Aoife and Joey's love story is beautiful; I believe they're soulmates because no matter what happened, they never gave up on each other. This book is really sad, but really worth it.
