I really enjoyed this one. As a young horror obsessed teen in the mid naughties, I loved the movie adaptation of this abscess pleasantly surprised to find the book this summer. I’m a fan of gross out horror, and this hit all the pleasure spots in my brain. It’s gross and compulsively readable. I listened to the audiobook version on scribd, and my dog got a lot of extra walks so I could keep listening. I think if it works for you it works, and perhaps the people who didn’t like it aren’t a fan of the particular type of horror this is, and wanted it to be something it’s not.
