The Perfectionist: Growing as an Enneagram 1 by Elisabeth Bennett

5.0

The Perfectionist by Elisabeth Bennett is a unique devotion focused on the Ones of the Enneagram. This is a heavily focused Christian book so, if you are not a Christian, you may want to find another study to work through.

Each section of the devotion focuses on a personality trait of the One, from what motivates us to how we express ourselves when our motivations are thwarted to how we express ourselves when we are "healthy." I'd say the most powerful of these, personally, is the section on Criticism. Let's just say I'm a work in progress and I really needed those ten days.

How does this compare to the other tomes written about the Enneagram? It's a solid supporting book that should be on any One's shelf. Self-reflection is hard (I'm a One, trust me on this) and this book can guide you into understanding why you do the things you do and change them for the better.

I definitely recommend this book if you are One or live/love someone who is a One.
