Darklord of Derkholm is reads like The Office x The Lord of the Rings. Its a satire of Tolkein-era high fantasy. While it's not a book I typically read, it did knock a few chuckles out of me. Keep in mind, the humor in it is the dry, British sort - very Monty Python-esque, but gentler. Read the trigger warnings as one scene did not particularly age well. Don't go into this book expecting a dramatic fantasy - its a cartoony coming-of-age comedy that likes to mock fantasy tropes instead of milk them. Go into it like you would go into watching Space Balls as a Star Wars fan.
