What a ray of grumpy/sunshine age-gap goodness!

I loved the dynamic between these men - vulnerable and so real. Each were hurting and trying to deal with traumas in their life; but whereas Emerson was broken and hiding, Sam was taking it day-by-day looking at life as optimistically as possible. Their approach was completely different but they both found something in the other to help them on their path to healing. It was an intense connection between two refreshingly mature men. Their passion was undeniable and anyone but them could see it was more than just physical right away. When they both finally opened their hearts to the other, it was simply beautiful.

I kind of guessed the crisis of the book, but was pleased with how it was dealt with because what could’ve been cliché was not. This book dealt with some serious issues, but it was done with such care.

I loved seeing the progression of their friendship to love to healing. Such an emotional story that left my heart so happy.
