American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld
5.0
Curtis Sittenfeld is a phenomenal writer. She has the most incredible ability to write characters so believable that even when you disagree with their course of action, you can’t help but root for them out of a basic recognition of them as complex human beings. This was a great novel. Each chapter in Alice’s story clearly defined and so cleverly woven together. Not once did it feel like I was reading something just so that it could pay off later (it did however pay off later). Despite being a longer book, each part of the story felt necessary and was a joy to read. I will miss this now I have finished.
