The Hiking Trip by Jenny Blackhurst
4.0
Overview: This is a short and thrilling read. I was instantly absorbed in the story of a missing hiker and enjoy the back and forth in time POV. At first I thought it a fairly predictable read, but then...oh boy. I do love it when I'm proven wrong. I did find Laura a bit...meh, but I enjoyed her story and how it developed towards the end.
Good points: I liked the newspaper articles dotted throughout the book. It was a clever way of adding a new perspective to the plot. The chapters were nice and short and the writing easy to read. Nothing too overly complicated either. It all fit nicely together at the end and provided me with some shocking twists.
Not so good points: Nothing major at all. Overall it was a great read. I mean none of the characters were particularly likeable, but they didn't detract from the story.
I thoroughly enjoyed this short and shocking read and look forward to reading more books by this author.
