Tainted: Lance and Mary by Tess Thompson

5.0

With her 5th Cliffside Bay book, Tess Thompson, dives right into the story. No descriptions of the scenery or slowly building up of emotions and events, but rather a rollercoaster ride right into the thick of things.
Mary Hansen has got to be one of Tess Thompson's most damaged heroines. She's been let down by every man in her life and refuses to believe any man can be trustworthy, until she meets Lance.
Lance has always been a background man - part of the Dogs, but on his own. He's spent his whole life in his big, famous brother's shadow and has found that women are only interested in him because of his brother. He is probably, in my opinion, one of the most level-headed men in the Dogs because of this.
The story moves very fast and touches on a very emotional topic - miscarriage - which I as a mother believe is something every pregnant women fears. The story also brings in finding one's way back to God when you've been at the bottom of the pit and seeing His Hand in your life.
It takes an incredibly brave author to create a series like Cliffside Bay knowing that each book is NOT a standalone story. I applaud her.
If you are looking for a clean, feel good, real life romance series - don't look any further than Cliffside Bay. Reading order is (1) Traded; (2) Deleted; (3) Jaded ; (4) Marred & (5) Tainted.
I for one am looking forward to the next trip to Cliffside Bay in 2019.
PS -The case of the missing keys in book 4 is solved in book 5.
