This book surprised me a lot. I really really enjoyed the antics of these group of kids and the atmosphere wasn’t exactly horror but it was nicely built. I feel these characters have a lot of backstory to explore and I am here for it. The issues of abandonment and kids being on the frontline in this story sets a grim setting. It’s middle grade but an adult like me needs this kind of stories now and then.
