A Broken People's Playlist by Chimeka Garricks

5.0

I was gifted this book by the author months ago. I put off reading it, perhaps because I knew it would be so good. You know, like when you hide that piece of chocolate until the perfect moment when you can sit and savour it, which is really the only way to justice by it? That's what Garricks' writing feels like.

I picked this as the first book of the year because I couldn't let it get put in the middle of other great or not so great reads. It was so, so good! I loved reading every page of it and that opening paragraph INSTANTLY seals the deal. It affirms that yes, this is *the* book and you made the right choice to pick it.
