The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins
5.0
A long book, but well worth it. It's like almost four books inside of one as there are many layers and multiple mysteries.
If I'd been a reader back in the 1860's this would have given me chills. It helps point out the lack of options a woman without family (and sometimes with) might find herself. I know it would at least have made me look at my husband sideways, especially if I had money. Hee!
One of the most fun parts is the fact the book is told from different perspectives. It's amazing the voices Wilkie Collins creates with only words.
