The Whitechapel Fiend, by Cassandra Clare, Maureen Johnson, Luke Pasqualino

5.0

This is definitely my favorite one so far! It's less about Simon (sorry Simon) and more about Jace, which was a nice surprise. I'm so glad that Clare has decided to give her old characters such a place in these novellas!

But what made me enjoy this novella as much as I did was because of Tessa, Will, Jem & the others of the London Institute! The Infernal Devices is my favorite series Cassandra Clare has written so far, and I was so glad to get back to these characters. I only now realized how much I've missed them! And seeing them post-TID makes me so happy. I'm glad they're all living the lives they deserve! The setting in these books is also amazing. I need more Shadowhunter stories set in the Victorian era! Reading this made me so much more excited for The Last Hours! I don't think I'll be able to wait much longer.

The story of Jack the Ripper was captivating. I would never have expected that twist at the end! Cassandra Clare is good at surprising me with plot twists!

Can I also just mention that the narration of the audiobook was amazing? I absolutely loved it! Luke Pasqualino did an incredible job!
