Reading this collection of essays on Spider-Man felt like hanging out with a group of passionate, if slightly overly verbose, fans just as passionate as anyone who purchased this book surely is. In that sense it was a lot of fun - like being part of a club. Some of the essays hit better than others; the final essay, especially, I thought felt like a little bit of a reach, but overall it was a great collection to dip into and enjoy.
