The Steel Remains by Richard K. Morgan

4.0

I have loved Richard K Morgan's science fiction novels and when I heard that he was doing a fantasy book I got very excited . . . perhaps he could breath new life into a stale genre. And in many ways he did. The protagonist is surly, powerful, openly gay. The problem is mystical beings more legend than fact. And the solution is unorthodox . . . until the killing starts. It's fun, it's adventurous, and it's uncomfortable - everything I've come to expect from a Morgan thriller.
