It is a rather slow and mundane novel. The plot, it is hard to say, lacks that moment of brilliance most well written books have. I ened up reading it twice in the span of a month. The first read left me unsatisfied and indifferent. The second visit ended up leaving me unhappy and even more unsatisfied. Instead of wanting to know more of what happens afterwards it left me wishing I knew more of Rebecca. Wishing the novel had followed her adventures and story. Rather than her emotionally repressed husband and his childish (overly obsessive) new wife.
