Unfortunate Stars: A Wartime Confession by Susan Lanigan

3.0

This was a strong but short audiobook!
It's only a few hours long, and as I can listen at a faster speed, it went so quickly.
The story begins with a married man falling for another man in 1938 and this was a fascinating take on the heavily saturated genre of WW2 fiction. The literature tends to focus on the persecution of Jews, and this sheds light on the discrimination of homosexuality, which I admit I hadn't considered.
This was an audiobook where the narrator gives excellent accent and pronunciation to add more authenticity.
I would have probably preferred it as a full length novel as I think it's an area of history that is as yet unconsidered and it certainly has a place.
