On Writing Well: The Classic Guide to Writing Nonfiction by William Zinsser

5.0

One of the best books I've read on writing, so far.

From sports writing to memoirs, the author touched on many topics in journalistic writing and provided useful information on each topic without overwhelming the reader. Even if you're not a journalist, any nonfiction writer would benefit from reading this book.

Not only was all the information in this book useful, it was an enjoyable read. I found myself getting sucked in multiple times. I loved reading about his trip to watch the salt caravan travel through the Sahara desert, and how he chose to write that story.

The author encouraged writers to improve their skills while maintaining their own unique writing style, and he provided numerous examples of how to succeed.
