Who Gets to Be Smart by Bri Lee

4.0

I found a lot of this really interesting and well researched, and overall I enjoyed it a lot. I find the way Bri inserts herself and her feelings into everything a bit distracting and annoying in a Helen Garner-esque way, but this is clearly her style. The focus and structure of the book disintegrated as it went on - early sections were really strong and eye-opening, but the last few felt disconnected and directionless. It tried to interrogate a lot of really important topics and succeeded in some areas but ultimately fell short.
