Black Lies by Alessandra Torre
5.0
Alessandra Torre's done it again, after finishing this I'm absolutely speechless again.
I don't think I can put into words how fantastically written and mind blowing this book really is, but I'm still gonna try...
“Love isn't about being happy. Be single and be happy. Love is about putting him, his sanity, his happiness, first. If you aren't willing to do that then you aren't really in love.”
Here goes.. This book was absolutely nothing like I expected it to be. I fell in love with both men, except this time I felt really bad for Layana, I didn't actually judge her, I just felt for her in wanting both sides of her life. I never expected her relationship with Brant to be better when she'd found Lee but that wasn't anything in comparison to what happened to any other expectations I had. They were blown to a million pieces, crushed by a meteor and then dunked in molten lava.
Some of Lanyana's actions made me question her love for Brant
I was expecting Brandt's secret to be something that would make me hate him, I should really learn not to presume and have expectations with Alessandra's books..
Basically, you just need to read this book, but if you start it when you only have a couple of hours spare, you won't be want to put it down when you get going.. I didn't plan to but I couldn't help but read this in one sitting.
“When you really love someone, you cannot walk away. No matter what they do. No matter the lies from their mouth, or the actions from their bodies, you tie yourself tightly to their sail and vow to be there through thick and thin. Let the wind blow you where it may. Even if that place is a crash. Even if that place tears you apart and kills anything good.”

Spoiler
I couldn't for the life of me understand how she could be so cruel to Brant, even though he didn't know, and take Lee to their new home and christen every room with him and not Brant. that was a cruel twist, I felt so bad for both Brant and Lee.I was expecting Brandt's secret to be something that would make me hate him, I should really learn not to presume and have expectations with Alessandra's books..
