This is How You Lose the Time War by Max Gladstone, Amal El-Mohtar

4.0

One of the things I enjoyed most about this book was how short it was. There was no filler, not a single sentence that didn’t somehow contribute to furthering the plot. The style of prose the author uses is also very unique, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. The vocabulary was incredible as well, I learned a few new words by reading. My only complaint is that I wish the basis of the universe was a little better explained; I would probably have a better understanding if I reread, but only including background information within Red and Blue’s letters made it a bit hard to piece together. I do think the book is a little overrated, but that’s not to say that it’s not good - it definitely is, and I would read it again and would recommend to anyone looking for a sapphic, action-filled, enemies-to-lovers romance. 3.8/5
