The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones

4.0

The Only Good Indians was a twisted and thrilling first dive into the horror genre for me.
It was even more consuming as an audiobook, where I couldn’t look ahead to the next line- all I could do was wait and listen. Jones had me looking over my shoulder with paranoia as I listened to a vengeful creature hunt down the four Blackfeet men that murdered her herd of elk ten years earlier.
My aversion to gore and horror didn’t stop me from being drawn into the darkness of this novel. I’m eager to read more from Stephen Graham Jones and other Native authors, and to find myself less averse to reading horror.
