This book snuck its way into my heart and buried itself there. many parts of this book resonated so deeply with my own experiences growing up and and having that "someone special" that I only saw during the summer. The pain and excitement of first love is so well fleshed out in this book, that I found myself having major flashbacks about my own past experiences.  And although there was a point near the end of the book where I was basically screaming in frustration at the characters, it reminded me of the imperfections of life and how complicated our relationships can get when our feelings and insecurities get in the way.
