I have no idea what I want to rate this amazing book. 5 stars seems too easy almost. It was so good, and so long, and so complex, that I feel like I should be knocking off points for something to say I really thought about it. However, the book was just so damn good, I feel obligated to give it 5 whole stars. Let's unpack this.
Pros:
Pros:
- They got right to the shit. There was no slow burn or beating around the bush with this story. Other readers may disagree with me on this since the book is well over 400 pages, but I was entertained pretty much the whole way through.
- The characters were funny as hell. I could picture each of them, and I laughed out loud so many times throughout this book!
- There were even times where the dialogue/writing was so good or so crazy that I had to stop and reread passages to my husband. It even piqued his interest.
- This was my first mosey on over into sci-fi/horror/comedy/series/anything like this, and I loved it!
- It was at this very moment, that I decided to give this book 5 stars.
- I also purchased every book in the series already, so thank the LORD I actually liked the first book.
- I pray the other books are just as good!
Cons:
- There were some parts of the story that were so detailed, it made it hard to follow. However, it didn't make me enjoy the book any less overall. I just chalked it up to me not getting it, and moved on.
Final thoughts: I absolutely need someone else in my sphere to read this book so we can both be in awe! I can't wait to read the other 3 books in the series!
